Arizona will not issue the Arizona High School Equivalency Diploma on the four GED subjects alone — you must also pass the Arizona Civics Test, and the passing score rose to 70 out of 100 on January 1, 2026. It is a separate sitting from the GED subjects. Plan for it early rather than discovering it after you have already cleared math, science, social studies, and language arts.

You need a passing score on the official GED Ready practice test first, plus a webcam-equipped computer, reliable internet, and a private room where nobody will interrupt you. That GED Ready requirement applies only to at-home testing — walk into Phoenix College or GateWay and it does not apply.
Standard testing age is 18. A 16- or 17-year-old can test with two things in place: verification that you have withdrawn from school, and a signed, notarized, dated statement of consent from a parent or guardian. Both must be filed before ged.com will let you book, so build in time to gather them. If an under-18 tester sits the exam online, a parent or guardian also has to be present at the pre-test check-in to give consent on camera.
Yes. Arizona offers all four GED subjects in English and Spanish, on campus and at home, and you choose the language for each subject when you register on ged.com. The four subjects can be taken separately, in any order, with scores held until the set is complete. Employers, colleges, apprenticeship sponsors, and the military treat the diploma exactly as they treat a traditional high school diploma.
