You can test on your own at 18. If you are 16 or 17, the District still lets you test, but you need parental consent and permission from your school district. There is no testing below 16.
You cannot already hold a U.S. high-school diploma and cannot be currently enrolled in a high school at the time you test.
You must be a current resident of the District of Columbia to test here and receive the District credential. The credential is issued by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE).
A current driver's license, D.C. ID, U.S. military ID, or passport is accepted at every testing center. Expired IDs and school IDs are not accepted.
