Two places inside the city. College of Western Idaho runs Testing Services at its Ada County Center, in the Lynx Building at 9300 W. Overland Road, and CWI is a Pearson VUE-authorized test center. Boise State's Proctoring and Certification Services sits at 1406 Chrisway Drive and is open Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. CWI also tests at its Nampa campus on East Franklin Road if that is the shorter drive. You book and pay through your GED.com account, not through the campus.

You need a passing score on the GED Ready practice test first. It costs the same as testing at CWI or Boise State, so decide on convenience rather than price. The one real difference is retakes: online you get one before a 60-day wait and each retake is $36, where a test center gives you three attempts and charges $10.

Eighteen, and you need to be withdrawn from high school without a diploma. At 16 or 17 there is still a route: Idaho has a Youth Waiver Form. Send it with a current government-issued photo ID to cwiproctor@cwi.edu, or post it to College of Western Idaho, Attn Testing Services, MS 2800, 5500 E Opportunity Dr, Nampa ID 83687. Get it approved before you try to book, because CWI will not schedule you without it. Testing online under 18 also needs a parent or guardian at the pre-test check-in.
No. Idaho has no residency requirement at all, which is unusual among states. You can live in Ontario, drive over from eastern Oregon, or move to Boise next month and still test at CWI or Boise State. One local detail worth knowing: Idaho does not call the credential a diploma. You earn a GED Transcript and a High School Equivalency Certificate. Colleges and employers treat it the same way a diploma is treated.
