Missouri requires GED test takers to be at least 17, lower than most states. A 16-year-old can test only with a Missouri DESE High School Equivalency Age Waiver, granted under narrow conditions such as enrollment in an approved Missouri Option Program or withdrawal from school with 16 credits completed.
Applicants cannot already hold a U.S. high school diploma and cannot be currently enrolled in a Missouri high school at the time of testing.
You must have a Missouri mailing address to test in the state, and prove it with a government-issued photo ID on exam day. Out-of-state testers receive the credential of the state where they qualify.
A current Missouri driver's license, state ID, U.S. military ID, or passport is accepted at every testing center. Expired IDs and school IDs are not accepted.
