The Waipahu Community School for Adults Kona Campus, at 74-5062 Onipaa Street, Room F-2. The name looks wrong and is not — the Hawaii DOE runs ten Community Schools for Adults and the Kona campus sits under the Waipahu school in the testing registry even though Waipahu is on Oahu. It is the right place. Book through your GED.com account rather than calling the campus.
No. Hawaii is one of a small number of states with no at-home online proctored option. GED Testing Service publishes an online price and an online retake policy for nearly every state; for Hawaii it publishes neither. On this island that is a real constraint — the only alternative to the Kona campus is Hilo, about sixty miles across the saddle. Your preparation can be entirely online; the exam cannot.
Hawaii charges $43.50 per module, so $174 for all four, and the price is the same at every site in the state. Retakes are more forgiving than the price suggests: there is no waiting period after a first failed attempt at a subject, and you only hit a 60-day wait after a third attempt at the same one. There is no limit on how many times you can test in a year.
Eighteen. A 16- or 17-year-old can test with approval under Form 4140, Exceptions to Compulsory Education, and GED Testing Service directs you to your high school counselor to start that. There is no residency requirement at any age, so you do not have to prove you live in Hawaii to test here.

Hawaii Community College, including its Palamanui campus in North Kona, and the University of Hawaii at Hilo both treat the GED as equivalent to a high school diploma for admission, as does every other public institution in the state. Palamanui is the usual first stop on this side of the island, and its credits transfer straight into UH Hilo.
